Samsung Galaxy Y is one of the low budget mobile phones in the Android Smart Devices. But,as we seen the phone is bit sluggish in nature i.e.,a bit slow. So here we have the Unofficial Update for Galaxy Y which now works on ANDROID KITKAT 4.4 VERSION. As a default OS it has Gingerbread With Android 2.x.x Version. Things To Be Done before UPGRADING SAMSUNG GALAXY  Y :

Here are the list of few things i would like to discuss below.
  • Before starting the procedure at first one must ROOT your mobile and install CWM recovery.
  • Once confirm whether you take a complete backup or not.
  • And your device must be charged to 80 percent or more. Because the procedure may  take more time than you expect. So that we can be in safe side always.
  • Now Enable USB-Debugging mode in your mobile. This can done through Settings->Developer options->Usb Debugging->tick mark on Check box.

 Things To Be Downloaded :

  1.  CWM(ClockWorkMode) Recovery  --> Click Here
  2.  CM(CyanogenMode) Kernel             --> Click Here
  3. Android 4.4 KITKAT Rom                 --> Click Here

Procedure To Upgrade:

  • Connect your device to computer and copy all the pre-downloaded  files to your storage card.
  • Time to start the process.
  • Power off your Device & Press Volume Up+Power Button+Home Button All together at a time till you see the Boot Animation on your screen.
  • Then click to Recovery Mode by using volume buttons to Navigate.
  •  Install install zip from storage card card
  • Choose CyanogenMod.zip from the list after installing.
  • Choose reboot recovery.
  • Format Cache.
  • Format Dalvik Cache.
  • Format system.
  • And Now choose Install fron SD card Option and choose Android 4.4 Rom.
  • At last make sure that  You make a Factory Reset From Recovery Menu and then Reboot the device.
  • Finally,It's the time to see 4.4 on your mobile Device. 
NOTE: And it will take a bit delay at your first Reboot.
